May Day
May Day is Quadra's oldest community celebration dating back to 1898. It is a non-commercial family event that takes place at Rebecca Spit. It is a vibrant and entertaining expression of the cooperation and diversity of the Quadra Island community. It includes a parade with prizes for best costumes, a May Court, a variety of races, tug-of-war, a grease pole, a driftwood fort building competition, face paint, belly dancing, box lunch auction and in general, a wonderful chance to come together with friends and neighbours in a beautiful and scenic environment to celebrate our community.
It is always on the Saturday after the May long weekend.
Please remember to keep your dogs at home!
