The Community Centre
The facility can be rented for meeting, workshops, parties, weddings, dances etc. Meetings are charged at $10 an hour with a minimum of 2 hour rental. Weddings and dances are $300 with $300 damage deposit.Rental for events sponsored by local, non-profit groups is 15% of the gate (gross income) and 15 % of the net income of the concession.
Set-up time is charged at the regular hourly rental of $10 an hour. Stage lighting is an extra $35.Rental of the grand piano is $25 above the rental fee.Video projector may be available.
Main Hall
2900 sq feet and seats 200 people. There is a kitchen with electric stove, dishwasher, cupboards and counters. The 26' by 28' stage has curtains, theatre lights, and sound system. There is easy stage access to the exterior via a large garage door.
Meeting Rooms
Room 1...small meeting room for 15-20 people; wall mirrors and make-up counter for pre-performance rituals; ready access to video, dvd and t.v.; sink, counter, cupboard and coffeemaker.
Room 2...small meeting room with board table comfortably seating 10 people.
Room 3...our medium sized room, replete with wall to wall mirrors, is excellent for yoga and dance workshops etc. Sink, counter, fridge, microwave, dishwasher. Seats 60 people comfortably.
Rental Terms
A rental permit must be signed by a representative of the group renting the facility. Rent must be paid in advance of the event, unless other arrangements are agreed to. Groups not affiliated with the Recreation Society which rent the facility for major events must have Comprehensive General Liability Insurance covering the event. The policy must be for $2 million public liability and property damage and the Quadra Recreation Society and Strathcona Regional District must be name as additional insured. Download a rental form
